A Word from our Pastor Greetings and Happy New Year,
Where in the world did 2011 go? It certainly did fly by!! In the church year, we enter the season of Epiphany this month.(January) It is a time when we speak of Our Lord Jesus as the Light of the world. Traditionally, the days, too, will begin to lengthen, increasing the light in our every day lives. Sunday January 8th we celebrate The Baptism of Our Lord. On Sunday January 22nd there will be a worship service at 2PM at the Basilica to celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.(this is in addition to our normal 10:30AM worship here at Pine Street). Then on January 29th we plan to dedicate new pew Bibles for our sanctuary during our morning worship. We also want to begin a new ministry this month(January) in the form of a Friday Family Film and Fun night. Plans are still incomplete, so keep checking back on the website and in our weekly bulletins for more information. We truly do miss you, when you are not here with us in worship and at special events in the life of our church. This goes for our regular worshipers and those whom we haven't even met yet. We are a close and loving community who support and nurture one another. We also reach out to the larger Danville area community as we try to fulfill our mission to share our faith, hope, and love. It is my hope and prayer that you will come join us as we do the work God has called us to do. God's blessings on your journey. Take care.
Peace, Light and Love,
